The 4th of July in north Texas is more than just fireworks and BBQ. It’s a day where our homes and neighborhoods can truly shine.

At the center of it all is the Lewis family’s home—a picture-perfect example of classic Texan charm, complete with a wide front porch, hanging flower baskets, and a flag waving proudly from the eaves. The Lewis family moved in last year, and this is their first big 4th of July celebration.
Mrs. Lewis is bustling around with trays of snacks, while Mr. Lewis mans the grill like a pro. Their teenage daughter, Emily, has set up a face-painting station for the younger kids, who are now sporting stars and stripes on their cheeks. The Lewis’ golden retriever, Max, trots around with a bandana around his neck, soaking up all the attention.

Just before the first firework lights up the sky, Mr. Thompson from next door taps you on the shoulder. “Can you believe the Lewis’ did all this? They really know how to bring the neighborhood together,” he says. And he’s right.
